Privacy Policy

Iran Ideoscope is designed from the ground up with privacy as a core architectural principle, not an afterthought. This page explains exactly what happens (and what does not happen) with your data.

The Short Version

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Period. Your test answers are processed entirely in your browser and are discarded when you leave the page.

Infrastructure logs

When you access the site, our hosting and delivery infrastructure processes basic technical data such as IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp, and response status. This is used to deliver content reliably, prevent abuse, and maintain security. We do not use this data for advertising or behavioural profiling.

Legal basis

Where applicable, we rely on legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) to operate, secure, and protect the site. If we are legally required to retain or disclose information (eg in response to lawful requests), we may process data to comply with legal obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).

Retention

We aim to minimise technical log retention. Logs are kept for a limited period and may be retained longer only when necessary for security investigations, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. Because we do not create public user accounts and do not store test answers, we generally cannot link test activity to an identifiable person. For any privacy requests, contact the site operator.

No Data Collection

Your answers to test questions are never sent to any server. All scoring computations happen in your browser using JavaScript. No API calls are made with your test data.

No Cookies or Tracking

Iran Ideoscope does not set any cookies, does not use local storage, and does not implement any form of user tracking or fingerprinting. There are no analytics scripts, no pixel trackers, and no third-party scripts that could identify you.

No Server-Side Processing

The public test operates entirely on static files served from a CDN. Test questions and metric definitions are loaded as static JSON. There is no server-side logic involved in test scoring or result generation.

Client-Side Scoring

Your metric profile is computed entirely in your browser and normalized to a 0-10 scale. In the current public release, the active question bank uses equal item weights for all public items.

Sharing Results

If you choose to share your results, a URL is generated containing a base64-encoded version of your final metric scores (7 numbers). This does not include your individual answers. The URL is generated client-side and is only shared if you explicitly copy it. We have no way of knowing if or when a result is shared.

Admin Panel (Separate System)

The administrative panel used for scientific governance is a completely separate system from the public test. It uses authenticated sessions for authorized researchers only. Admin activities do not affect or interact with public test users in any way.
